Office of the Champions

United We Draft

By the authority vested in this league since the fall of 2019, the following is the official record of those who have held the highest title our office bestows: League Champion. Seven seasons. Seven banners. One tradition.

A Word From the League Office

Welcome to the Flying Dutchmen

This is no ordinary fantasy football league. It is a sovereign institution of questionable judgment, unbreakable friendship, and consequences that echo long after the waiver wire has closed. Here, a Sunday lineup decision may become family history. A trade offer may be examined with the gravity of an international treaty. A championship is not merely won—it is entered into the permanent record and invoked at every gathering until the end of time.

Since 2019, the Flying Dutchmen have gathered beneath one sacred banner to draft boldly, talk recklessly, and pursue the highest office available to men of our peculiar calling: League Champion. Let all who enter understand that the standings may reset, the rosters may change, and the names may become increasingly ridiculous—but the brotherhood, the grudges, and the glory are eternal.

The Reigning Authority

By Order of the League Office

The Dutchmen Games

Mind  ·  Body  ·  Spirits

Once every generation of the league, the membership sets aside its jerseys and takes the field itself. The Dutchmen Games are our Olympiad — a multi-discipline proving ground in which every manager competes directly, man against man, for the single greatest individual honor this league confers: the title of MOW, Man Of Winning, and with it, the right to choose first.

Article I — On the Purpose of the Games

Determining the Order of the Draft

The Dutchmen Games exist to settle, by combat rather than by chance, the order in which our members select their rosters. The victor of the Games — the reigning MOW — earns the first and most sacred privilege of the coming season: the choice of draft position. He may take the first pick, or he may study the field and choose any slot he deems strongest. The second-place finisher chooses next from what remains, and so on down the field, until every manager has claimed his post. Ping-pong balls and lottery machines are for lesser leagues. Here, the draft order is earned.

The Six Disciplines

Events of the Olympiad

A pentathlon would not suffice for this membership. The Games are contested across six sanctioned events, testing the three pillars of a true Dutchman: the mind, the body, and the liver.

The Olympiad Files

Games I & Games II

The official event-by-event ledgers remain a future project. These files preserve what is already settled: the champions, cover athletes, punishments, incidents, and performances that escaped the weekend and entered league history.

League Folklore

The Booty Bandit

Not every entry in the record book is a matter of fact. Some are a matter of faith.

Unconfirmed · Passed Down Orally

On the Legend of the Booty Bandit

No draft night, no Dutchmen Games weekend, no league gathering under one roof has ever fully escaped the whispers. Somewhere between the last beer and the first snore, the halls belong to the Booty Bandit — a figure no one has caught, no one can quite describe the same way twice, and no one will admit to being.

The evidence is always circumstantial and always the same: rearranged furniture, a missing shoe, a cooler mysteriously relocated, someone's phone full of photos they didn't take. The League Office has opened no formal investigation. The League Office does, however, recommend locking your door.

The History of the Flying Dutchmen

The Seasons, the Stories & the Men Who Had to Live Them

Not merely what happened, but how it is remembered: the rise of champions, the collapse of favorites, the arguments, punishments, traditions, and decisions that became league law.

Chapter I · The Founding Charter

Before There Was History

The Flying Dutchmen Fantasy Football League was founded in 2019 by two sixteen-year-olds, Bob U. and Owen K.—recognized to this day as the league’s Founding Fathers. The charter class joined Owen and Bob with Rob W., Austin M., Ryan H., Jimmy D., Alex P., and Christian K.

Its roots reached back to the BWL, the three-year wiffle ball institution Owen had already governed as commissioner. The league did not receive its permanent name until the same circle formed a summer basketball team called the Flying Dutchmen. The name survived the season, crossed sports, and became the banner under which everything else would follow.

This opening chapter will eventually expand into the full origin story: the first draft, the earliest rules, the original group chat, and the decisions that turned an ordinary fantasy league into something much more unnecessary.
